Scott grew up in Colorado and went to undergraduate school at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. After graduating, the two things that captivated him most were traveling and skiing. These interests landed him in Africa, the Caribbean, Central America, South America, the Middle East as well as return trips to the US to spend winters in Colorado ski towns. Eventually Scott discovered the Lake Tahoe area and made it home base for several years. During these years Scott worked in the adventure tourism business and split time between Lake Tahoe and Costa Rica.
After years of working in the outdoor industry and using some basic wilderness medicine skills, Scott went to medical school at the University of Colorado and then completed a Family Medicine Residency in Fort Collins, Colorado. After residency, Scott took a position as a “General Practitioner” doctor in a small mountain town on the New Zealand south island. Scott was the only doctor in a town known for its mountain biking, hot springs and surrounding Southern Alps.
Lake Tahoe always occupied a special place in his heart and Scott is very happy to return and work in the community. He and his wife are happy to be raising their three sons here. Scott's interests in family medicine are broad, and it is the variety, personal relationships and never knowing who may walk in the clinic that he finds so gratifying.
