After graduating from the University of Vermont School of Medicine, Dr. Krause completed his Family Practice Residency at University of California, Davis Medical Center. He then came to Tahoe in 2000 in order to work as a family doctor in a ski town.
Dr. Krause’s current interests include the full spectrum of Family Medicine: from newborn to geriatrics. His special interests are in health and well-being, general medicine, ski injuries, and cholesterol management. He has extensive training in sports medicine and injury treatment.
He is an avid skier and triathlete. He works at the medical tent at the Hawaiian Ironman Triathlon World Championships and travels as a US Ski Team physician to World Cup events in Europe. He is functional in Spanish and German and has experience with travel medicine.
Dr. Krause has been the Chief of Medicine and Chief of Staff at Tahoe Forest Hospital and currently is involved in teaching at UC Davis Medical Center, where he is a Volunteer Clinical Faculty member.
