This season the FRC is offering a brand new class and some "spins"on ongoing classes.
New Class! Welcom Home Baby.....the 4th Trimester: This series is geared for moms and newborns, birth to 12 weeks. Learn about your baby, yourself and connect with a network of new moms. You will learn to understand infant cues, infant crying, and a variety of postpartum related issues and learn to relax with your baby. This series is facilitated by Lisa Lindeen, a postpartum doula and classroom teacher, M.Ed, DONA trained D/PD. The 6-week Series begins Wednesday, February 8, 11:00 am to 12:30 at the FRC. The cost is $72.00 and scholarships are available.
Baby and Me
Join these fun and educational classes for parents and non-ambulatory infants general aged 3 months to crawling/walking. Activities include music and play, education on health and child development, guest speakers and informal discussion. Series begins Friday, February 3, 11:am-12: 15 pm at the FRC
The 6-week series for infants will be held from 11 am-12: 15 pm. The facilitator is Cindy Bansen, R.N., IBCLC, Lactation Consultant, and the cost is $72.00 with scholarships available.
Toddler Gym-Time Classes begin with start of cold weather-date to be announced.
Gym-Time is a free, weekly, drop-in opportunity for socialization and active play with developmental toys and equipment for ambulatory toddlers ages 1-3 years old and their parents/caregivers. Thursdays, 10-11:30 in the Big Gym in the TTUSD District Office
Family Music with Todd Wees
New! Now offering special Infant/Toddler and Pre-K classes
Join our local troubadour, Todd Wees, for the popular Todd Wees Music Experience. You and your children will enjoy high-spirited singing and dance-along music.
Two Series of six classes are offered:
Infant/Toddler, Ages birth to 3: Thursday Afternoons 4:45 p.m. to 5:30, Beginning January 31 at the Family Resource Center of Truckee.
Preschool, ages 3-5, : Wednesday afternoons 4:45 to 5:30 beginning Feb 1 at the Community Arts Center, Downtown Truckee.
The series costs $72.00 for the whole family and scholarships are available.
Loving Solutions Parenting Series Look for a new series to begin in March.
This 7-week, research-based, parenting series is geared for parents of children four to ten years old. Join the series for education and tips that will help you build parenting skills through easy techniques. Utilizing a workbook format, group interaction and home activities for, parents will be able to start using tools at home after the first session! Susan Bower, M.A, will facilitate the series. The series is $125.00, with workbook and class materials included. Scholarships are available
The Family Room at Truckee Elementary
Join the fun in the Family Room with your little ones. Open Monday through Wednesday from 9 am to noon. Enjoy arts and crafts, music and stories with a facilitated activity from 10:30 to 11:15. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, activities will be conducted in Spanish and English. All activities are free.
